A group that is thrown togerther by big music executives just to make a profit, don't write their own (crapy) music, and put on a big "I'm so sorry for being sorry" kind of ack. They may not play typical boy band music, but they have all the traits of one.

No Linkin Park have talent. They're amazing at what they do. They sound different to anything else that is out there (except maybe those who have later tried to copy their style).. They are a lot harder in sound, style and attitude. They play all their own instruments. They appeal to both men and women, and they have a lot of older fans in their 20's and 30's.
Boybands sound mostly alike, they all seem to blend into each other. They are usually told by their record companies what to do, what to wear and what to sing (mostly love songs). It is very rare to see a boyband who play their own instruments. They appeal mostly to teenage girls. There really is no comparison. :-)

Not at all. You may not like their music, but they are definately NOT a boy band. For one thing, there were a band in Chicago for YEARS before they were signed. They write ALL their own songs. Either you have not done your homework, or you are mistaking them with another group. Your statements couldn't be farther from the truth.

Lets try and elaborate on 'boy bands'...look at NSync, THe Backstreet Boys, 96 Degrees, and all those...no Linkin Park is not a boy band...they dont sing in falsettos or stuff like that...unlike the others i have named...

haha wow...do really hate linkin park dont you. I don't consider them a boy band, because boy bands are like Nsync, BSB....and gay bands like that.

I do think they are a boy band. But have more of a rock twist on your typical boy band.

they dont have girls gushing over them
they dont write about girls
they are all in black and their songs are morbid

NO!!!!!! they scream, and they are not at all cute like boy bands. backstreet boys were a boy band, not linkin park! they're like hard rock

I don't really like them. BUT. I'm pretty sure they write their own material. and they play their own instruments.
