i'm around a lot of homeless and all they seem to want to do is drugs. not find a job, go to school, or get and apartment. why is that?

Homeless use drugs ,because drugs is something they know how to do,they don't know how to get jobs in their situation,or they don't know why they need to go to school.Drugs provide an instant relief,other things you have to work for very hard in this world.It takes much determination, faith and help to begin a new life from nothing especially having various addictions.

The real question is do they do drugs because they are homeless, or are they homeless because they do drugs?
They do drugs because they are homeless: Drug use can provide a quick and relatively inexpensive escape from the sorrows of homeless life. It's alot easier to steal a stereo, score some crack and get high than it is to start from nothing and get an education/job/ house.
They are homeless because they do drugs: Chronic drug abuse leads to dependence and having your entire life focused on the drug. People on drugs may have a hard time keeping a job, staying in school, or forming valuable relationships. People who use drugs are also breaking the law and may wind up in prison rather than rehab, where they will learn to be a better criminal and be branded for life as an ex-con.

When life seems useless you try to find the one thing that gives you a fast kick of pleasure, fun and meaning. Even though you know very well it's not the smartest thing to do.

Thats how they got homeless. Their sick with addictions.

i guess they are lazy or feel they have no purpose in life. Drugs distract them from that and also the hunger i guess.

Maybe drugs started it all.........and drugs are all that matter to them now.
