I need to study for this test tomorrow and I (a) can't focus (that's why i'm on here) (b) hate studying (c) haven't really studied much at all and (d) have a hard time memorizing everything
does anyone have any tips to make it easier, or even, dare i say it, fun? It can be on any subject but specifically social studies science and math. I always leave studying till the last minute too. ANY (useful) tips are welcome, and the sooner, the better. Thnx!

Oh, and any tips on studying for two tests in one day would be appreciated too, see i have a social studies test tomorrow, and science the day after that, and I don't wanna leave the science till the last minute, but i don't want to forget any social studies information or mix it up with science (yes i suppose i could somehow do it!)

Do not cram study the day of the test...our brains need a rest. Study the night before an exam. When you sleep, our memory is cleared out and you will have an easier time remembering things. I have a difficult time studying and I too have exams this week. What I have found is most effective is chunk studying...this is where I will study for a set amount of time, usually around 15 minutes, and then take a 5 minute break...it prevents the information studied from being too overwhelming. For Social Studies, my advice would be to use notecards. I use notecards for everything. Math notecards work too in remembering formulas, etc. Sometimes I can think of funny little sayings to remember things...its very helpful...good luck.

A Few Study Strategies:

1. Place yourself in a room with no distractions (i.e. noise, tv, internet, people, radio, etc.)

***2. Set a short term goal (such as I will review chapter 1). Once you have reached that goal reward yourself with a snack, a 10 minute phone call to a friend, 10 minutes on the internet, a stretch break, etc. **I find this the most useful, it motivates me to keep studying. Now set another goal and repeat.

3. Make sure you review everything at least once. Simply having read something can spark rememberance when you are in your test. Make sure you read and reread information on the most important concepts.

4. Make up some acronyms for words or concepts.

5. Don't stay up all night. Get your rest, a clear head is better than a foggy one when test time rolls around.

As for studying for two tests, I would spend the most time reviewing for the test you have tomorrow, but spend some time (like an hour) on the one for the next day.
