I had a baby 2months ago and now whenever I have sexual intercourse, it hurts really bad. It can't even go in all the way. And I can barely even put in a tampon anymore. Before this we hadn't had sex since I was like 6 or 7 months pregnant. Is this normal or is there something wrong???

After my wife had our baby she had the same problem and consultat her doctor, he said it was normal and that some lubricant would do the trick it did and about 6 months after the babay was born she was completly back to normal.

Probably not. This is one of those nasty little things that never really occur to a doctor to inform a woman about. After my first, sex was painful for months because of my episiotomy. Some women find sex painful for years because of the episiotomy. It is no fun to have scarring in a high usage area (well high usage in my case lol). You also are not supposed to be using tampons yet. My doctor told me at least 2 periods, or 6 months, whichever comes first. I nurse, so I usually don't get a period for about a year after the birth. The six weeks that the doctor recommends you wait to have sex are so your tissues can get back to relatively normal size and position. This does not mean that yours will be, and the tissues can easily become inflamed or irritated again. Also, after a birth there can be pain because of lubrication issues. After my second, third and fourth, we eased into it using lots of lubrication, and me on top. If you are on top you can decide when enough is enough(penetration or overall). I found that with me on the bottom the pain was far worse, especially since he cannot know when I am in pain, and I am not one to cry about it. If you think that you have an infection or there is something else wrong, or if the pain(intense) lasts for longer than another couple weeks with you guys easing into it with lube and plenty of foreplay, or if the pain gets worse(it should get better), or if you just don't want to wait, get checked out by your doctor. I have always found that if I feel something is wrong with my body that it is better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck

It is normal to hurt. Just think of everything that has happened in that area recently. It does get better. They tell you to wait 6 weeks for a reason. You are still healing. My second child is 8 months old, and I am just starting to enjoy sex again. If you are concerned, though, you should talk to your doctor.

Have you had yoiur postpartum checkup? Has your dr given you the ok to have intercourse? Even still, it will take quite a while before your body is comfortable with intercourse. Try taking it very easy (gentle sex), with you controlling the pace and use lubricant!

I Would Ask Your Doctor. I Dont Think You Are Supose To Use Tampons Right Away.

perfectly normal.. I bled after intercourse the few first times after having a baby, and it was painful, but it will go away.

Hang in there
