Aim are really good, esp their first album " cold water music".. alot better than their following albums.... you have to check that album out...rae and christian are also good, check out album sleepwalking.
contriva are good, as are nightmares on wax

That style has kind of faded out a bit and I haven't heard much new stuff from it.
If you're into alternative/electronica though Orbital, Underworld, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin are good choices. Although they are more danceable than those mentioned.
Trip hop doesn't have a huge background, even the new DJ Shadow album is quite terrible IMO.
