is it the right as you face the garden or to the right as you face the house? im certain its the fence to the left as ur facing the garden is yours but if you know a builder or a landscape gardener he would know the answer, both my neighbours want to renew their fences and both are asking me to foot the bill for their fence between mine and theirs thing is that would make me the owner of both fences ive told them this and asked them to sort out which fence i am responsible for, either that or settle for 1/2 the costs each only i get a say in the fences that go back, at the moment they are considering this, anyway another way to tell is the side the supporting posts are on if they are on your side then the previous fence was erected by your side therefore its your fence

you say its your fence so if thats the case then its your responsibility. If your not sure who,s fence it is then you will have to find out from the deeds of the property and determine whether its on your property or the neighbours property.it doesnt matter if the fence is on the left or right,it,s the person whos land its on is responsible.

You answered your own question...You said MY FENCE. Or do you mean which side to face your neighbors and which side to face your property? If that is what you are speaking of the pretty side faces the neighbor. I think that is in all states. The cost is your responsibility if it's your fence and fixing is yours also.

A simple way to tell is if the fence posts are on your side, if so then it is your fence. However, this simple way doesn't work if the fence posts are shared as well as the fence panels!

Normally it's the responsibility of whoever the 'back' of the fence faces. So if the fence posts are your side of the fence you pay.

It depends on who put the fence up in the first place.

find your property pins, they are steel stakes driven into the ground marking the boundary of your property , attach a string line to the pins, and run the string line from one pin to the other. this will reveal the property line, if it is a old property the stakes could be buried, so use a metal detector to find them, and you might have to dig some to locate. if the property is new then the stakes should be right there. if this does not work it is best to hire surveyor or go to the court house and ask for help.

you must start at one end obviously the end will be the first houses" then just do the houses in rotation and you will know who's side it is no problem we have done it we are the end house so the end fence is ours then the inside is next door etc

Since you state that it is your fence, then it is your responsibility.
