What do you mean by "it didn't show up on the page"? I'm not familiar Transmit but most FTP clients will show you the remote directory so you can verify that the file is there. If it's not there, then your attempt to send it failed for some reason; check your error messages. If you mean you can't find it with your web browser, it's probably because you uploaded it to the wrong directory, you gave it the wrong name, or the file has coding errors that prevent it from displaying.

OK, saw your additional details. Assuming that Mozilla is looking online and not at your local copy of the page, I'd guess that Safari is just showing you a cached version of the page, and you just need to hit its refresh button.

I hope this will give you a start.

Most web browsers are ftp capable. Safari should be able to ftp but I have never used it. On a mac I used to use a program called Fetch that used to ftp things quite nicely. You have to enter in the server address or server name and then your login and then connect. after that you should see the remote file system that you can move or transmit a file to.

on web browsers type this into your address bar.

ftp://username@someserver.com

It should prompt you for a password.

Ask your professor for help and he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Hope that helps
