Yes. Although gentlemen is a longer word than lady so it doesn't roll off the tongue as smoothly. It is also not a very contemporary word like lady still is.

I am pretty sure that he can still be refered to as Mr President. All ex-press are allowed to be called mr president. Now first gentleman? Not sure about that. I have wandered how any female President will be addressed; Ms. President? Madam President?

I think so. He would be the first. He can be also be known as the former president as well if Hillary becomes president.

Nothing could be done to make Bill Clinton a "Gentleman."

Aside from that glaring fact, "First Gentleman" would be the appropriate term.
