Yes. Standard Life - who you can only contact by phone - sneakily persuaded me to take out a high interest account shortly before changing to the worst computerised phone system ever. With their system you never get through to a human at all, it doesn't understand well spoken English, and it also requires you to press numbers into your phone, which, if you are using a mobile or one of those handheld wireless phones, means while you are looking at the buttons it asks you things you can't hear because you have the phone away from your head, and you end up having to repeat things over and over. I also couldn't work out how to shut my account, so I had to transfer it instead, and now they waste money sending me (and probably lots of others too) statements reading £0.00, which frankly serves the buggers right.

Thank you for you enquiry which is important to us. Please chose from the following options:-
Press 1 for an answer in the affirmative
Press 2 for an answer in the negative
Press 3 if you are unsure which of the previous 2 options you require
Press 4 if you have the rest of your lifetime to wait for a response
Press 5 for recommended options for terminating your existence due to the intolerable duration of these lists of options.
Please note that this call may be recorded or monitored for the purpose of training future inhuman robotic systems such as this that refuse to treat you as a sapient human being.
Would you like to hear the list of options again?

Absolutely! What ever happened to customer service? Here in Canada we don't pay for local calls, but it is still my time and I am still the customer. I hate those blasted machines, especially when they don't have the option I need.
It takes forever to get through to a real person and even then, you can wind up on hold for who knows how long. The worst is when they are really busy and you finally get your human being on the other end and they ask you to hold. Then you get booted by their system because it is too busy.
Employ people to answer questions and deal with problems. Machines tick me off!!

Not only did it take 20 minutes to talk to the girl at the cable company, soon as she said "May I help you?" And I said "OH boy! At last I've got a PEOPLE to talk to!" Instantly, she got very snippy.
MAY I help you" I told her I wanted to know if the cable company had high speed internet in the new town I'd just moved into. She punched my zip code into her computer and then said (very snippy) "No. Can't help you!" and she disconnected the call.
I ended up getting DSL thru my phone company. And the next week, the neighbor across the street from me said he had high speed thru that cable company.
I can ony conclude that she didn't like being called "a people". Yes, I hate it that live persons cant answer a phone.

yes. it's really annoying. one place that i called i had to listen to several different menus before a person was an option, and then it gave me a different phone number to call!
you should always be able to talk to a person first.
