The MCO airport is the absolute best airport in the nation to be stuck at. They have amazing shopping! They have 2 Disney "Ear Port" stores, a Universal Studios Store, Sea World Store, and tons more. The lobby areas throughout the airport are beautiful, especially near the hotel which is inside the airport - near baggage claim. There will be plenty to see and do while you wait!
And if all else fails, take your son on a ride on the MCO monorail!

They have all the shops that the user before me mentioned, Plus they have an arcade that will waste some time for your son. They also have a few sit down full service restaurants. Sit down and have lunch or dinner, that will waste about an hour or so. 2 hours is not that long of a wait. He might enjoy taking the monarail a few times back and forth. Kids get a kick out that.

I have only been at the Orlando Airport once or twice, and I didn't have any wait-time, so this is just "general" advice. LOL
Make sure you take cash - stop and get something to eat - that can take up to an hour. I'm sure you can find an ice cream sundae that will enthrall your 4yo!
Check out the Disney store. It's always fascinating.
Keep on the move! Don't stop! Wander here...wander there...the little one will entertain himself. Check out the moving sidewalks. Those are always fun. You can take turns - one on the moving sidewalk, one walking beside on the regular ground.
Good luck! I don't think it will be as bad as you might suspect. :)

They have alot of windows at the airport, find out where your relatives gate will be and watch the planes take off and land! Other than that there are stores there but not much for kids to do.

MCO isn't a great airport. it extremely is much less complicated to %. and verify your bags in. shrink any products you place on ( rings), save on and have outdoors wallet on your (occasion) backpack available for trouble-free get entry to of you identity and boarding bypass (although, that applies with any airports). additionally, verify with the airlines which you're flying out of. Many at the instant are charging as much as $25.00 for a 2d luggage; and proscribing carry-on luggage. As that's key summer season time, my own experience at MCO has been that in case you're departing for the time of early morning hours (occasion 6:30 -7:30 a.m.), the line for dealing with protection is longer than different situations of the day. yet, they're useful (estimate approx. 30-40 minutes). enable your self a minimum of two hours (a minimum of a million.5 hours) beforehand of departure time, and you mustn't have any subject concerns bearing directly to any opportunities of being previous due, and so on.....as quickly as you have cleared protection, you will could desire to seize a tram on your gate. The indicators are very clean. wish this helps you, and terrific desires on you holiday!
