in the test for water, the blue substance is anhydrous cobalt(ll) chloride, and the pink substance is cobalt(ll) chloride hydrate. Write a word equation for this change.

You've actually got the three substances involved in the wording of the question. Two of them combine to form the third (which is hydrated cobalt chloride). Now you can work it out.
