Mozart's Symphony No 9 is rarely played. He wrote it in 1772 and there is a recording by Charles Mackerras. Are your sure you don't mean Beethoven's 9th? That was quite exceptional as it used far more resources than anyone had ever tried to use in a symphony before. It was conceived on what was for then a very big scale and was his last finished symphony. Issalso damn good.

I assume the 9th Symphony you are referring to is Beethoven's, which is also known as the Choral Symphony.Whilst the first three movements are orchestral (and very powerful) the last movement is choral. This movement is known as the 'Ode to Joy' and has been adopted by the EU as its anthem.

No idea, I'm afraid, and I've been looking! Mozart wrote 41 symphonies (I think it was - it was certainly *at least* that many).
