I use 1 cup of white vinegar to a full tank of water. Run through several times and then rinse with fresh water 3-4 times to get the residule out of the machine. This also removes any lime build up.
For cleaning the pot...ice, salt and lemon juice is great! Swirl around together until the jar is clean.

Use pure vinegar, do not dilute. Run the machine for about half its cycle then let it sit for about 15 minutes. During this time the hot vinegar will react with the lime scale. Then complete the cycle, and rinse machine with water. You may have to run just some plain water thru the coffee cycle to get the vinegar out from the innards otherwise your first cup will be a vinegar latte. Yuk

fill your pot to the four cup level with straight vinegar pour it in and turn it on until it starts dripping then turn it off. Let it set so the vinegar can loosen up the build up about 15 minutes then turn it back on and let it run out, cool it down and put about three pots of water Thur it to rinse it. If you have real hard water do this about once a month

Just put 2 cups of vinegar in and run it like you would coffee. Do that 3 times... use same vinegar. Then run full pot of clear water to get rid of the vinegary smell. That should help
