Women.....Would you sun bath in the nude with your daughter?

I'm 37, my daughters 18. We have a great relationship, share everything. Very open, we are like friends. Some people think we are nuts, Thoughts?

Its not nuts, but for most, including me, its an issue of bodily privacy, I'm just not comfortable that way and I think it undermines a certain authority that you need when your daughter is so close in age to yourself. My oldest daughter is eighteen years younger than I am and I tried to make sure she knew she had a mom and not just another friend. As she matured into an adult our relationship remained excellent. She knew I was special, not friend, not someone to go clubbing with, but her mother. When she needed me it was as a mother and you can't replace that with you trying to be her contemporary. You aren't nuts, its just a little confusing to figure out why you wish to be as friends when you could be a unique figure in her life.

Not at all. My 12 year old daughter and I often sun bath nude together in our back yard, We also skinny dip in the pool as well. We are very close and family nudity is not an issue with you. For some it might be an issue, but for us it's just another fun way to spend time together.

Would I sunbath in the nude with my mother, or daughter if I had one? No. But I don't really think it's all that weird for someone else to do it. My mom is my best friend, but that is a little too far for me. I probably would with a sister if I had one. Or a cousin maybe.

Wow, Americans are soooo repressed!

There's nothing wrong, or dirty, or sordid, about sunbathing naked, either on your own or with anyone else! Nudity does not equal sex!

If you have a great relationship and want to get an all-over than then go for it - just remember to use plenty of high-factor sun cream!

It sounds like you're trying to be "the cool mom" by doing stuff with your kid. I'm 23, but if my mom wanted to sunbathe nude with me I'd think she was crazy, but it's not her personality. Also, do you want to run the risk that someone would see you and your daughter, and think dirty thoughts about both of you? Is this something you want her to do with your future grandkids? I don't think you're nuts, I just think that it's fine to be open with your kids, and have them be open with you, but there's a line that shouldn't be crossed.

I'm 21 and love to be naked wherever and whenever possible, whether indoors or outdoors, alone or with friends, in public or private. I love the nude beach and go there lots of times every summer.

However, I think that I'd find it weird to sunbathe nude with my Mom.

It doesn't really matter what your doing as long as your spending time together. If you are both comfortable with sunbathing nude then do it. I am so tired of not doing things I would like to do for fear of what people will think. Who cares have fun.

It's always best to be hands on to teach the appropriate way to do the things that aren't always accepted by others.

WARNING-Bad example, but an example, nonetheless!

In my late teens, I smoked pot, and my little sister would want to smoke with me. At first I said no, but then I realized she would do it whether I was ther or not. I preferred for her to do it with me, as opposed to her winding up smoking something else or even being improperly influenced by one of her other smoking buddies!

I have also sunbathed nude with my best friends and I Consider my mom as being one of my best friends! But I also have to say I am not one of those types of girls who is afaird to show her body.
So its no big deal for me to be nude around people I know and or love!
