I have never been discriminated against because of my race. However, I once went into the ER in the middle of the night with a severe migraine. The doctor took one look at my disheveled appearance and assumed that I was a junkie looking for a fix. He told me to go home and take an aspirin. Then he told me that there was no way he would give me any narcotics! I promptly called my uncle who is the chief of medicine there.

The doctor in question was reprimanded and I received the proper care I was entitled to. However, I will never forget being treated like a drug addict just because I hadn't combed my hair.

I once was not appointed to a position for which I scored the highest [got a 100%, not bragging, you'll see why in a bit] on the application test and even had most experience. I was told there were not enough minorities in admin positions. This section of our company got shut down by an outside federal inspector for failing to meet operational standards cause it was being run by the minority who scored a whopping 58% on the OPEN BOOK application test and had no experience. The higher ups in my company could not understand why I refused to go in and just "help out for a week or so" to get the section opened up again. I offered to be appointed to the position for which I applied. They said that wouldn't happen to which I replied it looked like the section opening up again wouldn't happen either. It didn't for six months--when the person who was assigned to it finally left he company.
And, please, don't think I dont like minority persons. A "minority" person got me through Calc class in high school and another through Univ Phys in college. I like all Homo Sapiens, the only "minority" I personally discriminate against is Homo Stupidus/Lazius.

OKay, I went to a catholic school in chicago for a little while when we first moved here. My teacher was a white nun(nun mind you). The class was made up of mostly latinos. Then in class she started talking about how lazy and uneducated latinos were and that they were beneath her. She said that no matter what grade you got no one was getting an A. OKAY, now if that wasnt bad enough we went to the head nun of the school and told her what the teacher said she said and I Quote" There is nothing in the bible that says being racist is wrong" (and no I'm not joking this really happened). My parents took me out the next day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on a job interview, and it came about in conversation that I'm married. Upon hearing that, the interviewer asked if I had any plans to get pregnant right away. I politely remarked that that was a very personal question, and I said I wasn't quite sure what that had to do with the job interview...not to mention the guy isn't allowed to ask something like that. Wouldn't you know, I never got a call back, even though I'm WAAAAY qualified ???

Yes. Me and my family went to a fancy hotel in Kiawah Island, SC. The only black family there (i think ever lol in the history of the hotel) lol anyway. When me and my family went to the hotel there were chatters from the desk ladies to the other hotel guests. We were on the most expensive level of the hotel:Club level. This meant we were able to enter a club lounge and have foods and watch tv etc. Me and my sister loved it and we would go in as much as we could. We got stares from the white women sitting at their tables sipping tea. One of them whispered something but all i could hear was "how could a black person affor-" And you know the rest. The looked at me and my sister like we were little bad *** ghetto girls. lol we told them wrong. one white boy was streched out on the floor and yelling. My father is also a very athletic guy so in the morning he would take runs on the beach. (this was a private island we went on only the people that were let through the gate were allowed on the beach etc and people had houses here (white). So my father was running and these dogs come to him and start barking (their were other people on the beach and the dogs came at him like he had meat in his pocket) My dad was like "shh shh" to the dogs. And the owner comes to him saying "Sir im sorry sorry" So you see why the dogs sicked on my dad.

Why do you asume its for race? It could be for a mental illness or being overweight or whatever? And the answer to your question is yes. We all have. Ever time we fill out a job application and there is that question, "Do you speak a second language." It's a polite way of weeding out those people they want. In a lot or cases, they do not want a person that just speaks only english.

Yes I am put down because I am white. In my school you are bad if you are white and cool if you are black. THe black kids always beat up the white kids and hispanics. THe faculty has told the student body that if you are black you get a 3% grade increase.
