hey walmart is helping low income families now with sleep aids they are introducing something called pelisol-sleep aid (oxcide), which is all the same chemicals and ingrideiants that are in ambien and some others as well they will sell this over the counter at about 16.97 for a months worth although when buying them you have to ring up and the pharmacy register and show a pic id so they can keep it on file i think that it is really great bc my husband doesnt have a good insurance plan that means we always have to pay for the medicine (whole) w/ no insurance coverage or anything i think that this product will help low-income people you can look product info about this sleep-aid at www.walmart.com/pharmacy hope it helped you and i am glad to know i am not the only one that needs sleep-aids

Your insurance has a list of Rx's they do cover for sleep aids. You will have to call your insurance co and as for benifits dept. They will tell you which ones are covered under your specific plan. I had this problem with prilosec "heartburn med". Aetna would not cover 1/2 of the ones on the market...but I did another brand for just my copay.

there may be some underlying reason for the insomnia, so don't go getting all dependent on some drug that will only burden you financially and make some drug lord (i'm so sorry "pharmaceutical company" is what i meant to say...not) just that much richer...i'd try to get around taking any kind of drugs at all, and see what a doctor or two would say...maybe a psychiatrist, there may be some depression or other deep issues...

2 Benadryl at bedtime. Even doctors recommend it.
