You may have downloaded an infected video file. Its tough, but always there is hope to clean out your Trojan enemy. Find out about several good products on the web for free "cleaning virus in PC" or type "trojan" patch from microsoft.com

First off, relax. No PC is worth killing yourself over!

Second, you should NEVER, EVER repeat what you just did. It is a very common tactic for spyware authors to trick you into installing garbage on your computer by suggesting that you have to download a video codec to watch something on your PC. Basically, you got duped just like millions of others have.

From the vague information you have provided, I think you have been infected by the Zlob Trojan. It goes by many names, including AntiVermins, VirusBurster, and others. I myself got infected by this and was able to clean up my computer by following the instructions on this website:

http://remove-antivermins.com/antivermins-removal.html

Try it out. Good luck!

Cemboy, it is not that bad. I understand that you may feel that way. However help is available to you. Run the 3 scans below to try to rid your computer of bad things.

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from CA.

http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php

Add Spyware Blaster to your security apps.

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Hmmm...what kind of video were you trying to watch ;-)
I did that once, dumb idea lol

I suggest starting Windows in Safe Mode and running a full scan with your antivirus program. If you don't have one, get AVG, it's free.
