Why are you going to the cemetery? That is just dangerous hon. Alone, at night, in a dark place? Cemeteries can have lurkers and all sorts of crazy people hanging around. Also, this time of year is probably cold, and you are going to get sick sitting in the cold.

That is more dangerous than working with a talking board. Ouija is a brand name, by the way. The borads are called talking boards.

Find someplace comfortable, sit down, and and work with it for a while. You are channeling the spirits of people who have passed over. Yes, you are going to get a response, what do you expect?

A word of advice. Many people do not realize that people in death are very much like they are in life. So, if you are calling up the spirit of your dead Uncle Arthur who was a foul mouthed womanizer, you are going to get the same person in death. And the session could end up XXX in no time.

Get yourselves a spirit guide, someone who will work on the other side and connect you with the people you want to work with. Another good piece of advice is to get someone to sit outside the board area and record your questions and answers, so you can look at it later and analyze it.

The board is a tool, nothing more. It is not a gate, not a portal. That is so much Hollywood. You are the connecting point, you are channeling the voice of the spirit through your fingers as you move the planchette. And if this makes you nervous, then maybe you shouldn't be using this tool.

The spirit can not "possess" anyone who does not want to be possessed. So, it can talk to your subconscious, and those whispers move your fingers. But it is not possession.

All these years, people who have never even touched or owned a board have condemned the practice. They have no idea what it is all about, but they condemn it anyway.

Those of us who have worked with this tool for years will tell you that Hollywood scares the pants off everyone with this, but it is all made up. Really.

If you don't think it's safe, then it's not for you and you should move along and stop playing with tools you don't trust.

As with anything if you don't believe in something and it is strong enough no amount of evidence can convince you. However, belief or disbelief in something does not change the existence nor does it change the truth.

The Ouija board is real for those that can make it work or believe in it and bogus to the skeptic. It is not safe to be in a cemetery at night. And to top this off you want to go there to mess with forces you obviously don't understand. Not smart.

Don't listen to me or anyone else you have to make up your own mind. But if you are having doubts as you are because you have asked the question then you probably already know the answer and just looking for a reason to not go. So don't go, trust your instincts. If you do go I have a prediction for you. "Even if nothing bad happens you and your friends will have the living sh*t scare out of you." The Ouija is not a game and under no circumstances should it be regarded as such.

When I was 10 years old in 1968, I asked the Ouija Board when I was going to die, and it said, 1997. I never really believed in it, but 1997 eventually came around, and as that whole year went by, I thought, perhaps somehow, subconsciously, my mind would play off of it and cause me to have an accident or something, and it would become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Well it came and went, and I didn't die.

Later, I thought through the problem a little more deeply, and I realized something: suppose as the fundamentalists believe, there truly are spirits that you can contact and communicate with through this medium? Well, how would they know any better than a living person what the future holds? This is a complicated problem, but if you believe in free will, it means the future is not set, and that means it is impossible for anyone (including an "evil spirit") to know how things will come out in advance. And those spirits would understand that limitation much better than a young person playing with a Ouija Board. So the bottom line is, even if there were evil spirits "talking" to me, who cares? They were just screwing with my head.

But that right there is the real danger. Even if there are no such spirits -- perhaps ESPECIALLY if there are none -- if you go around believing in this sort of thing, you start to see invisible dangers lurking around every corner, and you can go insane.

That's essentially the situation all these religious people telling you the dangers of it are in -- they have got themselves believing in ghosts, evil "witches," demons, and all kinds of evil that they think is somehow floating around them in the air, invisible, threatening them, causing horrible dangers to them at every turn. What a sad, scary world they have created for themselves!

My advice to you is, make friends with people who have better things to do than sneak into a cemetery and play with a Ouija board -- for example, get together and go to an art museum or a free concert in the park, or organize a picnic at a beautiful spot on a river bank. And let the weirdos who are all obsessed with evil spirits floating around causing their downfall wallow in their own silly misery on their own time.

Depends if you are a christian or one who places their faith in God, then the answer would be no, you should NEVER replace prayer to the Lord with any other object or even person. Is it safe, it really depends on who you speak to and how much you believe their stories... But, keep this in mind, If you and who ever is with you actually "get it to work" are you prepared for anything that may happen, not only good things may or may not happen, but to believe in something, like your Ouija board, no matter what it is made of, can NEVER and should NEVER take the place of our Lord Jesus Christ. BTW, yes I am a Christian and PROUD of it. God Bless

A ouija board opens a portal so that spirits can cummonicate, the only thing is that if the right precuations are not taken spirits and demeans can escape. I would advise that you first look into a couple good binding and sealling spells first before you try.

Ouija boards are real; and no they are not safe unless you know psychic self defence.

I recommend avoiding them like the plague.

There is no real way of telling if it is safe or not...
However you are better being safe than sorry,
IF supernaturalism goes beyond death, and you do somthing wrong , then you may be in trouble,
but then again there is no proof of that, and nobody has proof of that,
but you dont know if somthing like that will happen,
you are better being safe than sorry.
Stay safe.

Safe. It's only harmful if you trick yourself into thinking it is harmful. Thats how the mind works after all. I havn't seen any proof in person that the board really talks to spirts. I think u would really have to believe demons are real to end up talking to one.

have fun as there is nothing to it. be careful though that you are allowed to be in the cemetery after dark as some cemeteries close before dark.

It is very real! If you didn't think it was real you wouldn't be asking if it is safe. As far as if it is safe or not, it depends on how you use it. If you are just messing around and don't have any idea what you are doing then you could be setting yourselves up for being possessed. If you already are experienced in the occult and know how to keep you and your aura safe then you will probably be safe.

Evil is an idea put out via the Church to keep you in line. I think of it like the Ying and Yang...everything bad has a little bit of good, and everything that is good has a little bit of bad in it.
