You have SpyWare.
You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.
These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry.
Check your anti-virus status, and run a full scan.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

It could be a couple of this. 1st your automatic updates for Windows may be set to download and install. Which will cause things to be slow. 2nd dell has a a program that checks for updates and such that may be running too. I would turn both these this off. 3rd run anti-spyware programs. The previous post had some great suggestions

Either malware or too many programs are starting up on the boot.
Try this:
Go to start > Run> type in : msconfig > hit enter> clink Startup
This will list all programs that start up automatically upon booting your laptop. Unclick any programs that you don't need to start upon turning the computer on - like, AIM, QuickTime, MSN messanger and whatnot...I wouldn't turn of things unless you know what they are. When you're done, restart and see if that helps.
Good luck!

Everything already said and I have one too and mine was because of the antivirus. It looks over everything before it will let the computer start. It's slow on startup but, it is doing its job.
