France is an extremely geographically diverse country - as diverse as the USA but contained in a smaller area. The weather systems acting over France do not take into account this reduced size and accomodate for it, therefore the weather varies not only from season to season but also from place to place.
Right now, for example it's 0°C in Paris, where I am, but it's -10°C in Morzine, 22°C in Nîmes and 15°C in Corsica. In Brittany right now there are ferocious winds of up to 100km/hr whereas here in Paris there's little wind right now. There are floods in the south west and frozen watermains in the east. It's impossible to define specific weather conditions for a country that has very dry, arid, flat regions, mountainous regions, a huge volcanic basin in the centre and techtonic plates to the south and east.
In the summer the weather is excellent in most places - varying from 18°C in the mountains to 40°C in the driest, hottest areas. You can fry an egg on your car in Paris in the summer and your coffee will freeze in the cup outside in the winter.
The weather tends to be less extreme than elsewhere (I'm talking New Orleans and Sumatra) and you only really need to be careful and prepared if you're in the mountains or on the beach with kids.

After living there for a year , I can tell you that French weather is very unpredictable. Winters will be cold. Paris is around 0-10c but rarely snows. Springs are cool , doesn't get too cold but summers are hot apart from the north coast. Paris in summer can see around 25c to 30c. If a heatwave comes , expect to see mid thirties. Autumn is rainy and cloudy. Day to day in france sees different weather , one day could see nice and calm weather , the next , rain and cloud and thunder. This is especcially on the west coast.

it depends of the season and the place. I live in south of france and it's cold in winter and hot in summer but it's sometimes raining at the end of august. Snow generally arrives in january or february but doen't stay a long time(one day or half a day).
