Other than his mission to liberate Iraq, was the cost of all the casualties worth it?

i'm not trying to be a conspirator, but other than casualties, there were also some soldier-to-civilian brutalities. the pictures show, though its not in the news, they won't allow it.

opinions from Iraqis and Americans would be good, as they are in the heat of the situation.

(I'm not an American. im being neutral, not supportive or attacking him)

i KNOW he is still trying. doesn't putting more troops in Iraq mean anything?... *ding dangs*, not everyone you meet are dumb...

successful, meaning as of until now. "success rate", include all factors such as economical/political/field etc...

hmm, though most probably it's highly confidential, some opinions from troops would be good. just tell what you CAN say :)

I answered a similar question earlier. I am an American and this is my belief. Was Bush successful ? It depends on what you call successful. He captured a dictator who wanted nothing but to control and kill people including his own. I believe it was a good thing. I didn't say I like Bush or his beliefs. I believe the war was necessary but they should have went about it in a different way. I believe we should have surprised them like they did us. Did they warn us they were coming? Did they call Bush and say (" Hey George were fixin to fly a plane into your Twin Towers do you mind?") NO !!!!!!!!!!!!! So why did we give them warning? We should have shown them what America is really made of! Get in blow the f--k out of them and then get out. Then we would not be in this situation. It's not a matter of anyone whining or crying like someone else answered, its about commin sense it's about lovin our family's and friends and fellow Americans and wanting them home safe. I truley support our troops and praise them for what they are doin. I too spend my time in the military, I know what they are goin through. I believe that they are doin it for all of us to keep our country safe from idiots. My little brother is over there and every time I here about a bomb goin off or a helicoptor goin down I get sick at my stomach. He's not whini and neither am I or any other troops. They are just speakin the truth. Is this nessesary anymore? What are we doin there still? We made our point! Lets show them what we are made of finish it! What is the point of sending 20,000 more troops just to replace the ones that have been killed ?!!!!!!!!!! Why after goin over there after they started the whole thing did we feel bad? Why are we now paying to rebuild their country when we have people here in our own country that need help. Did they pay to rebuild ours? Come on lets all use a little commin sence. What is really the reason, power, oil, makin the big wigs rich off of our losses and sorrows? BRING OUR TROOPS HOME. Stop the nonsence already. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 23yr old American girl, that doesn't know much about the political stand points of what is happen around our country. But I do know that are American solders are over there fighting for our freedoms and if they had a big problem with our president they wouldn't be there, no one put a gun to there heads and made then sign up for what they are doing. So you all need to just be thank full for what they are doing and not place blame on anyone just be thank full for what you have, your life your home your family. And remember what happen on 911 and the lives that were lost that day, that is the true problem with America we easily forget the important stuff. I am not saying that you must agree with what our president is doing but I would love to see how you would do it. we would all probably be dead....... It is a hard job with big decisions and a lot of consequences, so please fun your mouths a little more and bash on Bush but just remember what you are putting down!!! the true people that are there putting there lives on the line so you can have what you want the American solders.......peace out Bush haters you suck

He was a lot more successful than our enemies in the media (yes, enemies) would have you think. Let's see - invaded a country, scattered their military, captured the capitol city, then captured the sadistic leader who was eventually executed by his own people.

Sounds pretty successful to me.

The reconstruction, which has been falsely portrayed as a "quagmire" by the MSM propagandists, is actually the NEXT war, against IRAN. And if we would just admit we are at war with them, and start sending a whole lotta cruise missiles into the bedrooms of a few ayatollahs and President Imaweenieman, we could finish this thing.

actually this wasn't just bush's dance...the dem's and rep's signed off on the war along with the u.n.'s approval and the majority of the ppl of the u.s. and they all based their decision on the same intel bush had.

as for you being neutral, you 'question' sure doesn't seem that way. as for asking iraqi's and americans....i have several friends in iraq and they say the iraqi ppl are very appreciative of everything we have done from rebuilding and renewing the cities to building schools, freeing them from oppression, their women are now free to walk the streets without fear of kidnapping and rapes. they are glad we came there but are now ready to take over and want to...did we succeed? any time you take a bully tyrant out of the picture it not only makes it safer and better for that country but for the whole world...although the media has made so many biased against the u.s. and they will reap the rewards of our brave sacrafices but will not give us the credit...

I can't say he was succesful. But I can say he did what everyone else has promised to do and didn't. Yes this includes his father who promised to get those responsbile for terrorist attacks and bombings against the US. He did what Clinton promised he would do when so many died because of terrorists.
He kept his word on that. But was he succesful I really don't think so yet. What will it take is really the question to ask.
Because it is to late to back out and it may be to much to add more to the proverbial frying pan. So is there a realistic way to be succesful.
(American opinion)

I am an American who says he was successful in killing hundreds of thousands of kids and adults and maiming many more and attacking on totally false pretenses! Iraqis are worse off now in many ways- healthcare, violence, jobs, safety, death, etc. If Bush didn't lie about knowing Iraq didn't have WMD then he was a fool. He probably bought, Feith, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Israel's take on things instead of listening to intel people who told him the info isn't solid.

I noticed a deficiency of Iraqi voices here...
This is one Iraqi who tells it like it is:

Only if you think all those lives that have been spent were worth his first and only motive? To hang Saddam? And we are still losing lives and for what? To prove he did not go in there to see Saddam dead for a personal vendetta?
Okay if you swallow that one look at the casualties? Why not just send a friend of his Dad's from the CIA and assassinate him instead of bankrupting the country and killing our soldiers and innocents as well? To prove something as usual with his inferiority complex he needs to prove himself all the time, he is a liar.

No. not even close. His goal was to bring capitalism to the country and get his friends rich. The country is in ruins. The have no control over the country, and cannot leave without chaos taking over the country. Plus, he has wasted about $3 billion a month of US tax dollars.
The worst campaign in the history of the United States next to Vietnam.
