NFL, then NASCAR then MLB then PBA. Great sports that draw from many demographic groups.

NHL, NBA, PGA, MLS, lame. Too focused. PGA is snobby. NHL (became "what sport is that again?"), NBA, Too thuggy and not a good media sale--too much me me me from the players. People don't watch soccer in the U.S.

NHL because it's the most exciting sport to watch, it's a team sport where team play and coaching actually make a difference, plus individual skill can be appreciated. Not to mention the fights.

I don't expect Americans to understand hockey, it's not in your blood - probably the same reason you don't appreciate soccer.
