Just wondering if anybody knows the difference. I am sitting at the hospital and I am looking at a mat that has a dinosaur that when i was growing up was called a triceratops and it is labeled as a pentaceratops. Thanks for your information.

Triceratops had three horns.
Pentaceratops had five: the extra two stick out from just under the eyes.

Well, considering 'tri' means 'three' and 'penta' means 'five', I would guess that a pentaceratops has five horns while a triceratops has only three horns.

If you take 3 (tri) from 5 (penta) you get 2 (duo) so perhaps the difference is a Duoceratops. Get well soon!!
