I like it, more men on the ground with weapons to kick the *** of those dang rebels who hate life and love the idea of dying and going to a place where there are 72 virgins, but how many virgins could there possibly be in HELL?

Lets KICK there ***, take no prisoners and get out and leave that bunch of wackos to fend for themselves.

what is the plan? What was the first plan? The biggest thing this shows is the incompetence of GWBush. The reality is the entire plan was a failure from day one because it was never honest to the public. What America was proposing was the overthrowing and occupation of a country. Not simply deposing a leader and establishing a new leader within the same structure. But abolishing the old structure, and establishing a new structure amidst existing conflicts. With that in mind, the US and Britain should have been mentally prepared for occupying the nation for 10-15 years post invasion to some degree. Frankly, the population needed to be surpessed to adopt the change in policy. We fell stupidly into believing democracy was some silver bullet of righteousness and peace. Meanwhile, we should have known that we unearthed internal strife and hatred towards each other in Iraq. The no-fly zones imposed after Gulf War I basically seperated the country into 3 opposing groups. As for Bush new plan, it is again another move with no purpose that fails to meet the need. if we need more troops 20k is a drop in the bucket, versus the 100-200k they could really use. The Iraqi's with their sectarian stife are not ready to defend or protect themselves. The government in place is a farce as the society cannot get beyond its sectarian favortism. As soon as we leave the Iraqi's will commence to killing each other to a degree we could not imagine. Blood will be on US hands. Our troops will have to come right back to stop that. I am a liberal person. Militarily, i think we need to increase our troop levels and secure the country by taking on the regional militias, disarming or destroying them. it would be problematic to do that because rest assured our government has probably negotiated and made allegiances with some of these folks. Attacking them would go against our word and create more turmoil, and lack of trust. Upon the battle we would maintain a miliatray presence to avoid the rebuild up of the militias, and strike forces capable of quick hits. I would have been doing that since the initial overthrow of Saddam. the new government and the media friendly stuff would have been put off for years. lastly, on a another tangent, some say the plan is working perfectly as this debacle is justifying a US military presence in the gulf region for years to come. as you know more air craft carriers are in the gulf now.

No. Puts us in the middle of sectarian violence, puts our troops under Iraqi commanders, takes troop out of Afghanistan. I prefer Biden's plan...if you are realy interested you can see it on his website.

I would like it better if the liberal media and liberal politicians would quit trying to destroy everything he is trying to do. What they do, is embolden the enemy. That thought is voiced by Muslim experts. God only knows how many more men have died, because of their big mouths.
