I have worn "classic" Birkenstocks (Arizonas) since the early 90s, and I love them. I like the price of Betulas, but I am wondering if they are as comfortable and durable as classic Birkenstock sandals. Thanks!

They are as durable and comfy as the classic Birks. My Mom bought me a pair of embroidered ones and the matching suede purse. I love them so much and they are so cute!

I also love the birkenstocks there amazing!!!!! I dont like the Betulas as much as the birkies..I had a pair and it wore down much quicker than the birkenstocks ever did. If you want a shoe that will last for a long time i would definetly go with birkies.

My first answer is neither. They are both rather ugly. But, if you must, go with the Birkenstock. They are very comfortable (yes I have had a pair) and even younger people can wear them. Mephistos look like something that you have to be a minimum of 70 years old to buy and wear with ugly dress pants and suntan colored pantyhose. Personally, the look of either is not fashionable. The appearance of looking like you live in an REI and Land's End/L.L. Bean is just disheveled and baggy looking.
