My step dad has son, one which he never sees, talks to or pays child support for. I know he owes $18,000 in child support, and I want to know if this is a felony? He lives in the state of FL, and I'm wanting to know because I heard if a foreigner commits a felony in the United States, they can get deported, and I want him gone. He is no good to my mother, and has two kids by her, two beautiful girls, and he just left them with my mom, and doesn't pay child support for them either. She's starting paperwork for them two, but it would be great if he would just leave and go back to where he's from, he has caused us nothing but trouble since I was 7, I'm 20 now. It seems he thinks he can just comes to the USA, and impregnate American women, but not support them. Thanks for reading.

Mean Carleen don't know what she is talking about.

Each state has their own rules & laws on child & spousal support. Check with the State Attorney General's office for the state you are interested in filing.

Also, just because you are a foreign national and commit a felony, does not mean you will be deported. Again, civil & federal laws do not always match, state by state.

If you are 20, you can legally sue the alleged for back child support yourself. (depending on what state you live in)

WOW ... yes, this is an offense, so I'd think that he could get deported! If ... they can catch up to his sneaky a.ss. If I were you, I'd contact the department of social services in your area, and ask them that question. Laws are different everywhere but I'd think that if someone came here on a greencard and avoided their parental responsibilities, they'd be deported if caught up to. That's the hard part ... catching up to the bastard. Good luck honey ... I hope he gets what he deserves!
