No. I think that more marriages would last if there were not sex before marriage mainly because there are trust issues that come up when one is promiscuous. And the self esteem and self worth issues are definately worth thinking about. How would you know you were missing out if you didn't screw around? You would not have to compare the one you love to another. I trust my children would wait, but know in this day and age, they may not. So all one can do is talk to them and hope they have enough self respect to abstain.

Yes, I do, provided there is protection and birth control. The reason is that there are many young kids these days who are "saving themselves for marriage." However, they want to experience sex, so they rush into marriage in order to experience the sex. That's not how it should be. Sex without love is just sex. Marriage is supposed to be a lasting committment, entered into because of mutual love and respect, not the chance to have sex.

I think everyone has the right to make that decision for themselves. I don't think it is wrong to have sex before marriage as long as a person is responsible and safe, and I don't judge someone who waits!

I had sex before marriage, but it was only with one man, and we are now married. If we hadn't gotten married though, I would not regret my decision because I knew he was right for my first time. He was my first REAL love, all the men I dated before, was just puppy love. My husband was caring and understanding, and he would have waited!

So I honestly believe each person is different and it is their own right to choose!!

I personally feel that it is wrong to have prematial sex. I am a Christian, and the bible clearly is against it. I don't judge others who do have sex before marriage. My boyfriend and I are both virgins, and we have been together for two and a half years. Our first time we be on our honeymoon night, and it will be very special. Our virginity is our gift to each other. But again, this is my personal opinion; I'm not judgmental of others who don't support my viewpoint.

I believe in sex before marriage. I need to know if he is going to satisfy me. If not, he's not the one for me.

When I was a lot younger, I didn't see a problem with it. But now that I'm older, I see how harmful it can be. Not only in regards to diseases and unwanted pregnancy, but I understand now how low self-esteem and a lack of self respect might lead people to have sex with multiple partners. I watch TV and see how sex and "sexy" has become so meaningless-- like eating a hamburger and burping afterwards. I see a lot of younger women thinking they have this new feminist "right" to have uncommitted sex, and how they feel used, jaded, and worthless. I see how they're confusing sex with love, and how they're now blaming men or calling all men dogs.
It's so much better for your self esteem and sense of self worth if you don't take that path.

i personally do believe in sex before marriage. only because getting married was never a really big notion to me. however, if i wanted to spend my entire life with one person - then id of course be willing to wait for that person until they were ready to make that committment ... then they could get some nookie:)

i dont even think that marriage is needed for having sex. 99.9 % in this world have it in secrecy and whats the use in taking a survey? Even the one who says they will get it only after marriage, does wish to get it before once and that too, very very secret. so its only upto a small percent, that sex is divine.
