We had a similar thing with our first son Ties (we are Dutch). Ties had excess fluid between his brain and skull and we were very concerned. The doctors could not give definitive answers and stated 'His brains look o.k. on the echo, but the extra space is a marker for Down syndrome and we are not sure'. They advised us to do some extra tests, we refused because there was no point - my wife was 32 weeks pregnant. The doctors were very inconsiderate towards us.

Luckily everything turned out o.k. and Ties is a healthy boy (almost 2 years old).

Don't believe everything the doctor tells you and use your own judgement.
