There is absolutely no evidence of a connection between this type of weather and global warming. None. Zip. Zilch.

Just because we see weather that is not typical does not make it unnatural. Ask any meteorologist and they will tell you a powerful, southward digging low out of Canada can bring these frigid temperatures and wintry weather events to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Plus, I would gamble that if you researched whatever climate data we have in those areas you would find these things have been happening for hundreds of years and is not a direct result of global warming.

To make a long story short, it is 99.9% likely this is natural and not influenced by man ( i say 99.9% because i can't actually prove it). This event is hinged on a lot of things coming into place, so that makes it unlikely to happen, not impossible.

I answered a question like this a couple of times so I'll give you the same answer:

This is the effect of global warming which is caused by the burning of fossil fuels such as gas and coal and the clearing of trees. Clearing trees increases carbon dioxide levels and scientists believe carbon dioxide levels will double before 2050 to 750 parts per million.

And no, strictly it shouldn't happen but there are too many pollutants in this world. Some people however believe this is a natural process for us to get crazy weather which will eventually turn back to normal.

In fact, January 2006 was the hottest January on record in Toronto. I however believe this is nothing to freak about and some people *cough* tree-huggers *cough* are too concerned over this issue. One thing is certain however, don't expect too many white Christmases from now on.

It is Global worming what is happening is the Icecaps are melting and when the Icecaps melt it cools are oceans causing our climate to cool and also razes the watter level in our oceans and with more watter in our oceans we get stronger and more storms.

And yes you can say there where always strange weather but Never in earths history like this. if it was colder then usual in England in the 1500s it was colder then usual world wide same goes for stormy and Hotter but now it is hotter in New York and colder Miami Warmer in London colder in Hong Kong.

There always has been and always will be strange weather. Records will be set and people will say "I never seen such a thing." Yes, average temperatures are going up. I guarantee, if you look in old diaries, newspapers and journals you will always find references to weird weather.
