Back in my day (Ha!!!), it meant you had slept with the woman who's bed it is. A souvenir, if you like!!! I suspect it has other means, though!

I don't know of any superstitious belief only that some people are sensitive to the cold and get headaches from it. Many Europeans wear hats to bed to keep their head warm because they don't have sufficient heating.

Why would one want to leave a hat on in bed for, i can only imagine it would stunt your hair growth.

Leaving one's hat on their bed is considered bad luck simply as one might forget and sit on it.

I don't know of any, but I know if you wear a hat to the dinner table at my mother's house you will get hit by flying objects!!LOL
