I need a good video editing software!!!?

I have been using Windows Movie Maker but it is just plain idiotic. Every five minutes it has something wrong and has to close. Or it just thinks there is too many things running that it won't import videos, yet there is nothing running besides itself. Is there any program that is simple to use like WMM just alot more reliable? And possibly cheaper than $100?

Cheaper than $100? i don't know. I am a mass communications major, and I edit almost daily. I use Final Cut Pro on a Mac. Avid is the best, but final cut pro is really good as well and is almost matching Avid. I think you have to choose Good, Cheap, Fast. You can only have two of the following.
