You might have a point. I know I'm not starring as much as I gave thumbs up or down.
I do find myself going back and giving thumbs up to more best answers, though...makes me feel a bit like Robin Hood. ; )

Yeah, I think that they are because the star system is symbolizing their good questions...which are sometimes more noticeable than good answers (which is where the thumbs up/down system comes in). All in all, it's how people are. If they really care about answering usefully and kindly, they will look at others answers and use the thumbs up/down system, but if they're more concerned about whether their questions will get points, they will pay more attention to the amount of stars they get.
Good question! I'll definitely keep this on my watchlist!

I like the thumbs up/down better. Not to many people use the stars.

I only give a star if it's a question that interests me. Same thing I use to do with the thumbs up.

i assume you ought to declare i'm stingy with stars, I in basic terms don't think in giving them out willy nilly, you are going to be relatively stable and maximum questions relatively do no longer advantage them. Thumbs up I have no difficulty with, i'm no longer out for the 2points so I often make an effort to ensure different solutions, in spite of everything they are exciting! I purely thumb down while surely needed, i'm unlikely to thumb down somebody for having a various opinion than me! i think of they could saved for the 'stupid' solutions and abusive ones, all of us understand what they are!

Well, people don't like to have their name associated with what they like as a question as much. Thumbs down was so anonymous.

Yeah I think everyone is shy. But I did mention before that if they want to get rid of the stars thing, then they need to star every question. Read this if you want... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A9FJuioBJLVF8BABMV3sy6IX?qid=20070119103602AAFljm7

Stars are deceptive, kind of like celebrities, if you catch my meaning.
