I want high speed internet, and dont' feel I should have to pay contract penalty just because I'm moving to an area that they don't cover that is 5 miles away.

From what I'm to understand, relocating to an area where a provider does NOT have service is the easiest "out" to get you out of a contract.

The burden is upon them - not you - to offer their ongoing service where you are relocating to, but a contract is a contract. To keep their customers happy, I'd expect they would assist you with getting out of this contract since you are moving. I would, however, suggest speaking kindly with whom you are conversing there as you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Good luck~

I would call other companies to see if they are willing to buy out your contract with them so that you can switch over. If you are military there is a clause that you can just give them your orders and you dont have to pay anything extra.

You have two choices. Pay the penalty or don't move; that's it. It's up to you.

Just because you don't "feel" that you should be penalized doesn't change the contract that you entered in to.

Time Warner is monopolizing the industry when it comes to cable, Internet and phone. They have good deals but ATT is also coming up with the same package. Check to see if they are in your area.
