i was planning to buy my bro World of Warcraft, but was wondering if it could be played offline also.

Technically, there is a way, and that is to make your own private server. This would take a lot of time, and would result in many headaches. If you made your own server, you would be the only player, unless you were to invite a couple of friends. Keep in mind private servers are a big no-no and can get you into some trouble.
Not worth it. Pay the $15 a month.

It can by downloading a program called WoWemu, then he can play it offline, but it isnt worth it, World of Warcraft is made to be played with other players and if he playes it alone he isnt going to like it.
oh btw setting up a private server isnt all that easy either :P
also with private servers not everything works as it should(broken quests, busted spells ect...)

umm no not world of warcraft.. but u can play warcraft games.. same people.. but there just non online games.. hope this helps!
