Hmmm....female avatar and you pay support to an exwife? Okie Dokie...
Well, if you are paying the greater percentage of care for the children [room, board, health, education, clothing] then yes you claim the children [check out the required %age]...you must be able to prove it - whether your ex works are not has nothing to do with who can claim the children as dependents....speak to a tax professional.

Only if your wife doesn't claim them. Check with the IRS. There is a form that she must sign so that you can claim the kids.
Bear in mind that once you claim the kids, she must report child support as taxable income.
This is something that she may not wish to do.

i imagine now that you adult adult males have a baby, it needs to be addressed b/c he wont ought to pay as a lot toddler help to his exwife. it also relies upon which state you stay in or which province you stay in. toddler help is depending on the bottom gross sales that he makes and is split up in what percentage youthful ones he has. the purely way you'll get this straighted it out is via a family members criminal professional. definite its severe priced and definite its a discomfort interior the *** yet you gotta do whats appropriate. interior the longer time period its truly worth seeing a criminal professional. Ive spend 1000's of money on a lwayer and that i continually get what i want interior the properly. I purely pay off my bill a touch at a time. the substantial element is that the youngsters are supported financially b/c its no longer there fault.

Yes you can but you have to work it out with HER first. Hopefully you also provide medical/dental insurance and provide for other needs as well? If not then you should split claiming the children.

No, unless they live with you under your roof for more than 6 months of the year. Your child support goes to youe ex to help with the finances of raising your two kids, not totally financially support them. So unless theyre under your roof then sorry, no

This should be stated in your divorce papers if not, ask her. If she is not working and don't file I don't know why not. But check in the divorce papers or ask her first.
