Lex,
The good news is that you "Do" recognize that you want to do better! Most people go off to college just as confused as they are in high school (only to leave college a year into it.) I was like this!
For your own good, get with an advisor at the school you are going to attend, LISTEN to them! They are your new best friend. They will help you "plan" a list of classes based on your interests, this is very important. If you lose interest, you'll lose focus and that's when you fall behind!
I dropped out. It took me years of trying the "wrong" jobs, classes, etc... to get it right. Now I have 2 daughters in college. I told them the same thing I'm telling you "Stick to your advisor like glue! It's not "nerdy" it's not "gay", it will make the difference between going to college 4 years vs. going for 10 years, or worse, dropping out.
You will thank me when you're out in the world making good money & those "cool kids" are still short a couple classes to graduate and driving a beat up civic and working at Starbucks for no money!!!

Hey, this is coming from a college freshman. Don't stress out so much about your high school grades. College is a lot different than high school. You have a lot of time to study outside of classes. I recommend your freshman year not to be involved with a whole bunch of activities (some are good, because you get to know other people, but don't overload yourself). Also, there are a lot of people at universities that are willing to help if you have problems with grades. Professors often like hearing from students, and if you go to a big enough college with TAs, they help a lot too. If you want to change, you can do it.

definite there some colleges in which you may take those forms of instructions, yet they're typically the community college ones. 4 12 months college ones require a mode, likely money to follow, and essays. I had taken a cake adorning type once at a community college. And definite, I did meet my major different in school. It become our freshman 12 months at Michigan State college. we are meant for an extra!

well, lucky for you, the good thing about college is that you can pretty much take whatever the hell you want. Depending on what your major is, you wont have to take math anymore. My advice, as a college sophomore, is that do not join a sorority your first year if you planned on it, try not to party a lot and do your homework. Class is important but homework is more important. If you do your homework, you will be fine. College in a lot of ways is easier than high school.... all you have to do is manage your time.

Sounds like me. Commit yourself to finishing, and keep focusing. Repeat your commitment EVERY DAY. You can do it, you made it this far, and now that you care the battle is half won. Now just work like crazy!
