Nvidia is for gaming, bro yes waiting for DX10 games to come out is a bad idea and in the other hand these cards prices are sky rocketing, like the Nvidia 8800GTX costs you $600, so far this is the only graphic card for DX10 yet, and trust me this card alone is better than any SLI or Crossfire that we have in our market,

would i be buying it ? yes indeed, i am a game lover and i don't care abt the money,

the answer for you - well bro go with the Nvidia, its much better on games than the ATI, overclock the GTO and u will be flying, and well if u kinda like the ATI for some reason then look for at least ATI x1950 Pro / XT,

hope the answer helps, good luck

I would say go with the GTO. I couldn't find any that compared the two directly, but I found some that had the 7950GT and the X1950Pro, and the 7950GT is extremely close in specs to the 7900GTO, and the 7950GT beats the X1950Pro. But these are at stock speeds, a lot of times cards come already overclocked, so that can change things. If you have two specific ones in mind, I could make a better comparison.

Definetely go fo rthe 7900GTO, it has more ROP's & Textures/Clock, but has 12 less pixel shaders than the X1950 Pro.

But overall it has more hardware than the X1950 Pro, so I suggest
the 7900GTO

dont listen to people who tell you to wait till direct X 10
when new dx10 cards come out they will cost u an arm and a leg and most games will not be designed around dx10 yet so u wont have much of an advantage for now its mostly nvidea for gaming ati for graphix design
id still go for ati tho

wait, im not even kidding... do not buy a video card yet.
Wait a few months until the new DX10 cards become really good and then get one. no point in buying one now and then getting another one for vista.
