(Yeah, I copy/pasted this from your other question, but I like getting 10 points.. you really don't have to pick me, but it was worth a shot (and it took me a long time to type this on the other question)) :)
Oh goodness. I'm a little obsessed with organizing - like, to the point where I want it to be my job. Seriously! And I'm only 16! Okay. Let's break this down step-by-step. Remember that everything is optional, especially if it doesn't apply to you.
1. Magazines!
Find all of your magazines, catalogs, mail, old school papers, etc. and make three piles. (1) Keep (2) Storage (3) Trash. For the Keep pile, find a cute magazine rack or a cute basket to keep them in. For the Storage pile, buy a plastic tub and store them in there to put in the attic, or wherever. For the Trash pile, you know, throw them away.
2. Simple closet organization!
Make three piles (1) Keep (2) Storage (3) Give Away. If there are clothes that you never wear anymore or are too small that you really don't have any attachment to, give them away. If there are clothes that are too small or just aren't worn that you really like, put them in a plastic tub to go in the attic, or wherever. Be sure to do the same for all accessories, and shoes. Keep the ones you love! You can put them in color order on matching hangers, if you prefer.
3. Under-the-bed storage!
Buy some plastic tubs that are flat enough to fit under your new bed, but it's best to buy the bigger kind (think of the kind people use to keep their wrapping paper rolls in). You can keep your storage magazines under there, or the clothes, or really whatever. It's a great place for storage if the attic is getting full!
4. Telephone!
If you have a phone for your room, then you can find a convenient place for it, and buy a cute night table or wall shelf for it to go on.
5. Posters, pictures, etc.
If you have pictures that you love, you can buy cute picture frames and wall shelves or a dresser to put them on! You could also buy a bulletin board from Wal-Mart or wherever to hold your pictures, movie tickets, and other favorites. Oh, and with the bulletin board? Spray paint it! How cute! Posters are cute, and you can always hang those up in your room!
6. Lighting
If you have a ceiling fan and don't really use it, then do what I did and get a chandelier! It's a really cool way to jazz up a room. If that's not for you, then you could always buy a new ceiling fan. If you love yours, then maybe think of buying a cute lamp to keep on your desk or dresser.
7. Paint!!
You can paint your room! They sell paint at low prices at places like Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot and Sherwin Williams. Pick out a fun color that defines you, and voila! Instant room makeover!
8. Curtains!
You can buy new curtains! Pick something that will go with your new bedding for your new bed. :)
9. Bookshelf
If you have a lot of books or magazines, or picture frames, or souvenirs from vacations, or whatever it is, a bookshelf would be great! You can buy one and paint it, if you like. If that's an inconvenience, then you could buy shelves to go on your wall. I'll include a website with examples.
10. Have fun!
Be sure to add touches to your room that really describe who you are. Maybe it's a cool lamp, a station for your favorite make-up and perfume, or a collection you started. Make it fun, and make it you!

The Container Store (check to see if you have one near you!) is a great place to go for storage containers, closet organization, and hangers of every color! The people there are very friendly and are really good at what they do. They will help you with your organization project, if you need it!

West Elm (check to see if you have one near you) has really cool shelves, furniture, and pillows. The shelves are really the main focus, and you totally should buy some.

A great website to look for crafty projects is www.craftster.org - I have gotten tons of ides from there, and it's a really busy forum so if you have any questions, or need ideas, you get answers quick.
Now for organizing, a good crafty place to look is JoAnn Fabrics, or Michael's, they have some good unfinished shelving units, that are made of wood, and all you do is paint, so it's all your own! I also bought photo storage boxes for about $4 each, and use that for all of my computer cables, backup cds, checkbooks, more craft stuff, photos, etc. And they come in neat designs!
You can also go to Lowe's or Home Depot and go to their shelving sections, and buy shelves. They have different price ranges, but bracket shelves are the best, and once you have stuff on there, you won't see the brackets (I always worry about that!) and you'll have somewhere to put things, up and off of the ground.. like speakers, books, games, cd's, movies, craft stuff, etc etc.
But you should definitely check out www.craftster.org ... some great ideas!
