An algorithm is series of steps for doing something. It's somewhat similar to a cooking recipe, it's just normally written in a language that the computer can understand.

an algorythm is the steps involved to solve a problem

"it's just normally written in a language that the computer can understand."

this is not true, high (c++) and even low (assembler) level code editors are not in computer code (what a computer understands). that's why compling and other steps occur to convert human legible source code to computer code.
