Is it really that hard to change the stations?

Because a lot of parents just plop their kids down in front of the TV instead of actually parenting them. If they were to send them outside, not watch them and then they were kidnapped they would be called bad parents. Instead they let the TV raise their kids. I think its pathetic. My mom monitered what I watched until I was old enough to decide for myself because she actually cared what I saw.

It isn't hard to change stations. By the same token, if some people are excited about hearing some fool use crude language, why can't that person search out that kind of program.

The real issue is not about censorship. It is about people being able to turn on a TV, or for that matter, walk down the street, and not be offended by language of behavior that would offend a normal person. I am sure that there is something that even you would consider offensive. Do you think it should be thrust in your face every time you turn on the TV? Probably not.

I don't care what kind of "music" other people listen to, but I am offended when some punk drives by my house with speakers blaring, because he feels the need to be the center of attention. His lack of sefl esteem does not give him the right to force other people to listen to his "music", so that they will notice him.

There is a thing called consideration. It is no longer common, as today, most people are concerned about themselves, and little else.
