I heard that any open flame emits potentialy harmful radiation. Is it the case for a candle's open flame?
What i want to ask exactly is "Would staring into the open flame of a candle for prolonged periods of time harm me in any way?"

yes it would, this is hypothetical yes? if you could stare at it long enough you could burn your eyes out all sources of light emit radiation which you stated above is correct but the amount
that is emitted is such that it would take a very long time
there is no difference between a candle and the sun just scale
(when your talking about the light being emitted)

I watched a candle flame intensely once for at least an hour and all it did to me was remind me of a young lady I knew a long while back. I wrote this poem that follows about the occurance. Hope it explains that there is caution, and there is passion. People have used candles for almost forever, and we are still here. I recommend passion, and lots of candlelight, and roses and wine:

With Candlelight

Burn little flame

brighter slowly
you have a whole candle to explore

lots of time and
thousands of dances to flicker

Perform for pleasure
your Yellow Samba
perform for my pleasure

The Shadow Waltz across the walls

Share yourself with mirrors and glass

and don't even ask
if I love you

I do

Get a candle stick light it and lie on it or put it under the sofa and you will find an answer to your question. In my opinion ,however ,i think it is harmful.

There is not enough of the harmful gases to kill you if you aren't in a sealed area.

no. Less than a TV. but if you keep it in a wrong way, it can wax your clothes or even burn you, it happened to me once at an Easter.
