We are definitely naming the baby Dominic if it is a boy and Dominique if it is a girl. We want a form of my name, Brittany as the middle name. How do you like Dominic Briton (pronounced Bright-ton) and Dominique Brittania (pronounced Bri-tanya)? If not, any suggestions?

Dominic Briton sounds fine, but people will always pronounce it as "Britain". How about Dominic Bryant?

Dominique Brittania is a mouthful, and yes, sounds like a dictionary.
What about Dominique Rain (letters of Brittany in a different order)?

I would use Dominic Brighton or Dominique Brittany.

As for Briton, nobody will be able to pronounce it correctly. I looked at it and thought 'Brih-tun' not 'Bright-ton'. You and your son will be constantly having to correct everyone when they try and pronounce it. And even if they know it's pronounced 'Bright-ton' they will have no idea how to spell it.

As for Brittania, it reminds me of the encyclopedia "Brittanica". It's not a name, it's hard to say, and it doesn't go well with Dominique.

Please find new middle names...

The boys' name sounds cute but the girls' doesn't. Is Briton gender specific? It might work for either the girl or the boy.

I would reccommend not to use Dominique as a girls name. I know a girl at my school who has the same name, and she gets teased because of her name, which is like a boys name. I like the name Dominiqua (prenounced Dominee-kwa) instead. (A lot prettier! :) And for the baby girls middle name, Brittiana. (Prenounced Bry-tee-an-a) I like Dominic spelled Dominick better and Brittan for a middle name. (prenounced Bry-tan)
Good Luck!

Brittania sounds like an encyclopedia. Don't do it.
