My BF and I have lived together for over a year, we each have a child, and his ex refusses to meet me. It was kind of funny at 1st but now it's kind of irritating cause I get the feeling that she talks crap about me to her daughter - or takes her daughters side when we have issures. I can't figure out how to break the ice? She wont come to the door and ignors my phone call when her daughter uses my phone to call her. The ex's sister & I are even friends, she said she is just immature and will get over it someday. - But when? I think she needs to communicate with me but how do I get her to when she is so stubborn?

Ok let me make this more clear, I live with her daughter... Wouldn't you want to know who your child was living with? I not only have not met her but never talked to her either? I just feel like it is unbalanced and there would be better communication - plus we could work together parenting.

You will not be able to convince her to meet you. Let her come to you. Until then, just try to be a good 'step mom' to your BF's daughter. Try not to have any confrontations with her, doing so will make the distance between you and her mom even wider. Don't let her get away with murder but try to be understanding and see what happens. The daughter may tell her mom that you aren't so bad after all and talk her mom into meeting with you.
Good Luck

Why are you so stubborn about meeting this EX ? That Ex is under no obligation to meet with you, or talk to you, or anything, and has already told you this. Your obsessive insistance is likely doing nothing more that just ticking her off more.

Personally if someone was acting to me like you are to her, I'd take out a restraining order on them. (seek therapy)

I dont want to meet with any of my EX's current partners.. why would I? shes an EX....

She probably acts that way because she still has feeling for your boyfriend and is jealous of you. But you should try going to her house with her sister and maybe like that she will try talking to you and at least youll have the support of her sister.

people who act this way are childish immature people. Could be one reason she was divorced from your spouse. She may never change. Don't let it get to ya, she probably is doing it on purpose to get your goat.

DON'T STRESS THE SMALL STUFF. SHE'LL MEET YOU WHEN SHE IS READY TO MEET YOU. INSTEAD OF GETTING IRRITATED BY THE SITUATION, JUST KILL HER WITH KINDNESS. SHE'LL COME AROUND SOON ENOUGH AND IF SHE DOESN'T AT LEAST YOU'LL HAVE A GUILT-FREE CONSCIENCE AND A MAN TO GO ALONG WITH IT! =) WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND NOT HIS EX.

Why do you have this twisted need to have everyone like you? She hates your guts, that's the way it is, let it go and move on.

Don't press it - leave it alone. She'll communicate when and if she ever wants to.
