Define major city or metropolitan city.
Not all states in the US have Chinatowns. The official one in Los Angeles is pretty much gone. It's more Southeast Asia Town than Chinatown because all the Chinese have moved elsewhere.

I'd be willing to bet that there is a whole bunch of cities in China that don't have a Chinatown.

The chinese language are like another human beings -- they project out to everywhere the prospect for prosperity seems to be calling. hence, they may be discovered everywhere such circumstances are discovered in the international. Then i assume it relatively is their dedication to kinfolk, custom, and all the traditions of their long historic previous that leads them to establish shop for the income and perpetuation of same everywhere they happen to be. Peace.
