''BB has destroyed a wonderful innocent person as Jade''.
Have you been watching the same BB as me and many others have? I don't think so.

I think Jade Goody is a bully and I'm quite sorry that the bullying of Shilpa has been overshadowed by the racism comments. I think what was going on was a lot more serious than calling someone a "poppadam". We call French "Froggies", for example, and they call us "Roast Beef". Both terms are derogatory, and racist. But no one takes offence.
I overheard a discussion on the "White Trash" remark and the person remarked - well, she is White Trash. Well, Shilpa is an Indian, why is it derogatory to call her so? Is it offensive to call someone the American? Or the Greek?
However, the bullying goes on all around us all the time. And this should be addressed. After all, the bullying came first and the racial comments came as a method of wounding the victim.
I don't like Jade Goody, and I was disappointed in the girls behaviour. But there is a lot more to it than just racism.

The issue isn't really about racism. Yes, more should have been said about the remark, "Whitetrash", but the difference was that was a one off remark, whilst Jade continued to repeat her language about Shipla throughout the show. It was deliberate bullying. She acted like a bully, rounded in others to play along with her ... that's what bullies do.
Jade is too stupid to be a racist. Her remarks were made out of ignorance, but the fact that she bullied the Indian girl was all for the nation to see. Having said that, had the victim been a white person, then I doubt the same coverage would have been carried. So yes, in that respect, there is one rule for one and another for others.

I think the whole rascist thing has been blown way way out of proportion here...its ridiculous...Jade Goody can be described as innocent but this is because she is too thick to even realise what the hell she is doing...I found the rows with her and her side kicks against Shilpa and Dirk quite uncomfortable to watch...I was not seeing the shilpa thing as rascist though....I do think, however, that the comment from Danielle about Shilpa should just F off home much more rascist to be honest.....and for the record I think that Shilpa played the victim admirably which stopped me feeling any sympathy for her...she held her own in arguments...its just cultural and background differences...I would have found anyone who claimed they did not know how to make a bed infuriating but there you go

I agree that the following situation is absurd: when comments are made and the two parties concerned are of the same ethnic group then it cannot be classified exactly as (nastiness)/racism.
Basically everyone has grudges and dislikes with the next person, I doubt people side with others of the same ethnic origin when it comes to the crunch, we look after number one but in the meantime it seems comforting to stick up for someone because the most overwhelming reason is that they look like us. If they behaved differently they would still be in the house but then this isn't the Great Age of Manners.

I think the term "White trash" was coined by white Americans: its not racist but rather a kind of snobbery & so its really not the same thing, although it is unpleasant. It is a shame about Jade in a way, but even she admits she was a bully so I cannot have much sympathy with her.
Question: do you think she would have changed her behaviour if BB had not warned her of its consequences ? Or would she have continued picking on Shilpa ?

i type of ought to agree honestly. I mean initially Jade become recognized as truly stupid and extremely annoying and honestly become no longer an truly difficulty-free housemate in case you seem decrease back, notwithstanding some are declaring she become. and then i assume she received some popularity from making body spray and a health video and promoting her existence to magazines. yet then no longer long in the past she become recognized as a racist and become even removed from the abode and not using a crowd in case of attacks. and how is that a legend? I merely locate the media those days to honestly be somewhat a funny tale in all honesty. It contradicts itself to the utmost volume. X
