Is it alright to get Ordinary cable for Hi Def TV? Will the picture quality be good? I am planning to get Ordinary dish and DVR not the Hi def ones. Please advice

It will work but you will not get an HD picture. You have to send HD info into the TV to get HD picture out of the TV.
That's as simple as I can make it

If you are planning on getting HD in the near future then yes. If not, then you might want to save your money for now. An HDTV showing regular cable looks pretty bad ... think of it like blowing up bigger what you see now. The only other reason I would get and HDTV is to watch wide screen DVD movies.

Make sure that HD TV is complimented with a set-top box
