errhh.. not all brown people are muslim. Shilpa is NOT muslim. Do you know how many non-muslim asian's have been attacked since 9/11 due to ignorance like this? They are the ones that DON'T want segregation so socialise in the same places as you, only then to be victimised by people like YOU.

Hi, although i do not agree with these sort of posters and although i want a stop to it, bcos UK is more open minded as are other countries, they do not think bad of this. I do not think that they do it bcos they want to offend muslims and anyway.........if you are in a muslim country like Iran you do what they say for respect i.e. even a tourist must cover her head, so in UK you must do what they say which is .....nothing bcos they are so open minded they dont care if you see posters or not, there is freedom of choice and speech in this country, it is nothing personal against muslims. my boyfriend is a muslim n i hv noting against his culture, i respect their ways in some ways but not all.the media highlights the bad that goes on in world. if muslims are doing bad then it is their job to highlight this. if Christians do it they highlight this too.......why do muslims and black people always say that people are against them when they do something wrong........its nothing personal its just that whoever does something no matter what colour or race they are, the media will always promote this....dont take it personal

First of all (to Bexs) Shilpa Shetty is not a Muslim.

But to get back to the real question, why don't these easily offended members of the Muslim community get over themselves and realise that the majority of this planet are not out to offend their delicate sensibilities? Even other Muslims seem to get under their skins and cause them to cry over the slightest imagined slight to their medieval beliefs. The way that fundamentalist Muslims carry on makes me wonder if they need a separate planet to live on

Because of the interests behind the ones who own the press? Afterall newspapers need to be sold and the more populist the better. Offending muslims today has become a matter of identification.

No - Its a case that a poster is put up and the muslims don't happen to like it - nothing more.

Its NOT done with the intent to offend muslims it is just that they have decided to use a female image to sell their product.

Sex / attractive females have ALWAYS been used to sell things from magazines to cars in western culture.

There are also strict advertising guidlines that have been established so overt images / scenes cannot be shown.

'The media are always against Muslims' - Well - certainly sounds as though YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM.

Advertising posters are not put up to offend anyone as the whole point is to attract customers. If I do not like a poster or advert, I simply ignore it - look the other way/switch channel.

It is certainly not meant to cause any offence, these pictures are used purely for marketing benefit as they do sell products well.

Personally I do not understand how these pictures could be viewed as deliberatley offensive to anyone. Its like anything some people support it, some people couldnt care either way, and others are offended. If you dont like them dont look at them.

Are you for real? The media uses pictures of attractive people because somehow that sells products. They are not aimed at offending anyone. What would you rather have advertising your knickers? A slim attractive young lady showing them off to maximum effect? or a dalek in a Burka with VPL?

Judging by the pictures of Shilpa Shetty I have seen - dressed in next to nothing they are bunch of hypocrites - yet again, one rule for them and one for us. I find terroists dressed up as muslim women trying to blow up London trains offensive but that doens't stop some of them.

I am more offended by the Muslim women walking our streets with bags over their heads than any page three girl.

Yes, the media have nothing else to do except find ways of offending Muslims, same way they're all anti-semitic, anti-neo Nazi, anti Rastafarian, blah blah blah. Try and be rational, it'll help everyone.
