My sister wants to leave from Newark and fly into SF or Oak sometime around the 12th of Feb, returning around the 16-18th. Any help would be appreciated.

Jetblue doesn't do Newark to the west coast, yet (only from JFK currently). United and USAir are coming up cheapest, $297 using the 13th and 18th. www.ual.com -- buy direct from airline to avoid booking fees; plus it's easier, if there are mishaps, to deal direct with the airline if you booked direct. Otherwise, they're going to send you to whoever you booked it from if the ticket needs service.

There is no non-stop service from EWR to OAK, however United and Continental offer non stop service to SFO. Doing a fare search of my own I found the cheapest fare to be with United. Departure to SFO on the 12th with a return on either the 16th, 17th, or 18th comes to be the same fare of $345.

Connecting service to each airport on other airlines tended to be, at most, $20 less. For that difference it's probably worth it just to fly direct and avoid the potential headache of connecting flights.

Do a search on the computer for low air fares. Go to smarter travel.com and to priceline.com Have a great trip! Happy flying!

I would check www.jetblue.com directly for fares.....I always get the cheapest fares directly at the airline sites and never at the travel booking engines......
