You say "accept your fate" as though you have no control over it...Yes there are things beyond our control (the weather, our physical characteristics etc) but we can choose how we react to these & we can choose how hard we strive to overcome any obstacle to get what we want.
The Serenity Prayer says it best: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference." The key is to recognize which things you can't control & learn to live with those, be brave enough to change the things that are within your control & be smart enough to know which is which. You could be born into poverty, have a low IQ, not be very attractive & yet be determined to be a success, work hard and be positive, dress for success, look your best & you could end up better off than those who were born with so-called advantages but who don't have your drive, persistence, ambition or determination. No matter what, you are the author of your fate. Nothing is impossible, only very difficult. It's up to you how hard you're willing to try.
Good luck.

Sadly, that is a fact, we really can't change very much and people do look at these things in a person. But I have come to the conclusion that no matter how bad it is there is always an even worse option, I mean it could be even worse that it is. We just have to live with our imperfections and try to make people understand that strength and will don't come from good looks, money or an exceptional IQ.

You are right, little, if anything, seems to be in our control. How do you come to terms with that? How do you accept it? The short answer is, you just do!
The Stoics of Ancient Greece and Rome believed that everything was determined. Some disagreed on some minor points, maybe you can change your own thoughts, or some minor things, but the overall path of your life is set. Many then, and today, might hold that EVERYTHING is set. As the Stoics pointed out, the only way to be happy with life, then, is to learn to accept it. If you are bothered by the death of others, and eventually yourself, then you should make sure you take a good look at a lot of dead people... deaden your fear, that's the way one of them said to deal with such fears. Face them, accept them, and roll with the punches.

You are a person of choice. You can't change much of anything except yourself. Attitude is everything and so is opportunity. Being stuck in a victim mentality is not helpful, it perpetuates misery. You can choose to be different, to do things others in your family haven't done but it takes hard work and initiative.
I know very successful people who had the most humble beginnings. It always comes down to how much energy you want to put in to being successful. If you live in the United States, you have unlimited opportunities but you have to work for them.
Best of luck to you. You can determine the outcome of your life.

Luck is life's map. Sure IQ, looks, family finances is what makes good books and movies, but it's luck, luck, luck, that will determine your future. You might meet the one, and it turns out not only you get along well but also the one is from a wealthy family. Yes, it's random luck that causes us to count our blessings or miseries.

Fate is not real and control is an illusion.
Luck has easily as much to do with success as intelligence, looks and/or finances.
Risk is an enourmous factor.
Many people who are well off now, tried and failed many times.
But, they weren't afraid to take the chance.
Or more to the point, they overcame their fear and took the chance.

Success in life also depends on things like love, your attitudes, your lifestyle, etc. I think you are thinking of success in terms of financial and career success but can money and fame alone make us successful? I think sometimes we also have to see the difference between being successful and being happy.

Some of the poorest people I know are the happiest people I know. Why? I can only say that they don't want what they don't have. They accept what they have been given and live to the fullest. Count your blessings. You have many things to be grateful for. If you practice being grateful for what you have, you will find yourself to be much more content. Peace .

"Circumstances governs destiny" BUT I believe in reality. anything bad tht happens to us is brought to us by a devil and I simply take all the sorrows or grieve or ups and downs of a life as a CHALLENGE as to defeat and show the devil tht good deeds always wins.
I accept my fate as a challenge and I try my level best to deal with it by all possible efforts I can put into solve the problem and or to get over with them positively.
