Davey is not the security firm breaking the law?
1 Public Area
2 Merchant Shipping Laws

Yea its probably wrapped up somehow, still well done everyone that got there in time an got themselves a freebie, especially the BMW motorbikes. the companies are insured and the beach stuff is written off as damaged anyway so no one is losing out except maybe the shipping company with the dodgy boat.

one paper I read said at least one container full of BMW motor bikes fell off the ship.
I think all the hazardous waste story is just a con to keep people from taking the goodies.
better watch it on the tv as a trip to sidmouth, although lovely, just to see a sinking boat seems a waste.
go down in a couple of months, it'll still be there and the weather will be nicer, make a holiday of it

i thought it was public salvage but some little squirt was on tv saying that it isn't the case anymore.
And Prince Charles owns most of the beaches in devon and cornwall

I live in Exeter and spent the last 2 days photographing the wreck for my local paper- it isn't worth it! There's nothing exciting going on and all the good stuff's been plundered already (there's now a private security firm telling everyone to **** off).

'Hello Dave': Merchant Shipping laws dictate that any goods from a shipwrecked vessel remain the property of the ship's owner and therefore they are fully within their rights to employ a private security firm. Remember, I'm noly taking the pictures- don't debate the law with me! I'm just repeating what I've seen and have been told.
